Morningside 621 Dental is proud to offer dental crowns and bridges as part of our restorative treatments. If you are missing a tooth or have a damaged tooth, a crown or bridge can help restore the appearance of your smile and add strength and function to your teeth. Both crowns and bridges are made from natural-looking materials, such as porcelain, and can be matched to the colour of your existing teeth for a flawless smile.

Crowns

Crowns can repair and strengthen teeth. It is a highly recommended treatment for broken down teeth, cracked teeth, weakened teeth and teeth that have had root canal treatment. It can improve the function, longevity and aesthetics of the tooth.

Dental crowns are caps that are lab-fitted over your original tooth. They are generally made from metal with an overlay of porcelain, ceramic or gold alloy. We find most people want a natural-looking smile and prefer the metal with an overlay of porcelain or ceramic crowns to match the colour of their surrounding teeth.

Bridges

Losing teeth can be a difficult and emotional experience, but options are available to help restore your smile. Dental bridges are one such option. Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth and are supported by crowns on either side of the gap. In other words, they span the space where one or more teeth are missing.

Bridges can help restore chewing function, improve your speech, and maintain your face shape. In addition, bridges can help to prevent your remaining teeth from shifting out of place.

It usually takes two dental visits to get a crown or bridge fitted. However, if the tooth needs further treatment, we will discuss it with you beforehand.
